Nestled in the heart of Ouro Preto's historic center, Pousada Do Douro exudes colonial charm with its beautiful interiors adorned with 19th-century relics. Our stay in room 104 was a treat, boasting not one but five balconies offering panoramic views of the city. The breakfast spread was a delight, featuring homemade pastries, fresh fruits, and regional delights like cheesebread.The attentive staff, notably manager Kicila and Claudia, went above and beyond to assist us, from resolving car rental issues to providing valuable local contacts on New Year's Day. Their multilingual proficiency and efficiency were truly impressive. The vintage ambiance of the hotel added a unique touch to our experience, perfectly complementing the hotel's prime location near the soapstone market.The hotel's serene atmosphere ensured a restful night's sleep, with the peaceful surroundings allowing us to unwind after exploring the area's natural beauty in Parque Vale dos Contos and Itacolomi State Park. The availability of amenities such as dry cleaning and laundry services, along with the welcoming bar/lounge, added to the convenience and comfort of our stay.Next time we visit Ouro Preto, there is no doubt that we will choose Pousada Do Douro again for its classic charm, exceptional service, and a truly memorable experience in this enchanting colonial city.
